The Samson Head Start program is dedicated to providing comprehensive early intervention and advocacy for children and families within the Samson Cree Nation. We offer a range of programs for children ages birth to six, including a daily Head Start curriculum for two-to-six-year-olds.
Our core mission is to empower children's creativity and learning through hands-on discovery in a responsive, stimulating, and inclusive environment. We achieve this by developing age-appropriate activities that are deeply connected to the Nêhiyawêwin (Cree) Culture of Maskwacis.
Samson Head Start is an integral part of the wider network of Aboriginal Head Start Programs. As one of five sites in Maskwacis and one of 17 in Treaty No. 6 Territory, we work in close partnership with the Treaty No. 6 Alberta Head Starts On-Reserve programs to create and deliver an Aboriginal-led curriculum.
The Samson Cree Nation Head Start Program provides quality early childhood intervention to help children thrive in school and beyond. We work with families to create a lasting, positive impact on each child’s educational journey.
